November 1, 2012 CNN released an article saying that computers are smater than humans. Self driving cars and life like robots are evolving more and more like humans and surpassing then. These machines aren't just taking over human tasks. Computerized systems are also taking on more human characteristics. In recent years since 2004 car companies have been trying to excell in the self driving car. Recently Audi did a test with their TTS going up a mountainous road with a lot of twist and turns that is 12.4 miles long and then exceed to a race way where it did 115 MPH without a drive and didn't crash. Every successful test builds hope that these cars can eliminate human driving errors, which are responsible for 90% of auto accidents. There are a couple of gray spots to some. "It's hard to make software that is perfect. If your software has an error, that could be fatal in a self-driving car," said Chris Gerdes, director of the center, at the science summit. By 2025 Self driving cars with eliminate traffic jams and the passengers will be 100% comfortable.
Robots are becoming more and more human like. One researcher who is moving far beyond just trying to make a system seem smart or trustworthy is David Hanson, CEO of Hanson Robotics Hanson wants to make a lifelike robot that has human-level intelligence. Visually, he's very close to reaching that goal. Using a substance called frubber and his own background in animation, Hanson has created incredibly (or creepy) lifelike heads that can mimic subtle facial movements and expressions. He would like to make robots interact with humans and have relationships with them.
