Families, as an institution, are
being torn apart all around the world by child abuse. In India, one out of
every two children is suffering from child abuse. That is half of the children
in India. It is noted that there is no one to take care of these children, no
one to monitor their homes because it is happening everywhere, and it even
takes place in the state-run children facilities. There was a woman in New Delhi
who was a victim of a gang rape that ended by taking her life.
These children’s homes are being
ripped apart by this huge social global issue. Children rely on adults to take
care of, and nurture them instead they are being beaten and sexually abused. In
2012 there were two laws passed to help the children and to stop the violence. Unfortunately,
these laws are not being enforced and nothing is being done to enforce them.

‘While child abuse is a problem
elsewhere, in India it is further aggravated by poorly trained police officers
who refuse to register complaints or encourage the victims to seek a
settlement. Convictions are rare and cases can languish in the country's sluggish
criminal and judicial process for years, if not decades.’
It is
pathetic to see that the adults, the ‘hero’ of society is not helping these
poor innocent children but are facilitating it. They shrug it off and tell the
children who fight against it to simply take money any and forget about it.
These people need to be stopped. If it continues, the children, both who are
being abused and those who aren't will accept this to be a way of life. Once
these children have accepted this way of life more dysfunctional families are
born into India and the ‘tradition’ continues.
Families
are meant to be a safe haven for children to feel loved, protected, and cared
for. It is sad to see the institution of family going up in flames in India
because of a problem that as humans we created and as humans we can prevent and
stop.
