Drug addictions and families blog four

In this article there is a man suffering from schizophrenia. He was on drugs and murdered a woman on a Spanish island. The man stabbed and beheaded the woman.  The man tried to plead insanity however, since he took the woman by surprise, was a drug addict, and the had no way of defending herself he was charged as guilty. This man was addicted to crack cocaine and LSD. The man has two daughters and a wife.

It is obvious to see that families are so tragically affected by drug addiction. The daughters made the statement "Unfortunately it is now left to us to piece these together as we still have so many unanswered questions’. This family has been torn apart by this drug addiction. Not only is this man homeless but he has caused his family a great deal of pain.

As a social issue it is important to remember, we create the drug movement. Drug addictions affect families all around the world. When seeing a family member addicted to a drug regardless of if it is alcohol, cocaine, LSD, heroine, or whatever they can get their hands on it is bound to tear the family apart. There are heart-wrenching stories of families who have lost their loved ones to drugs or like in the article, to someone on drugs. As a society we contribute to these addictions. The man in the article was arrested four times in the past two years for violence and the drug abuse was not news to the authorities but yet we continue to let him run around in the streets. Imagine how his family feels knowing their father stabbed and beheaded a woman. Even worse, imagine the woman who was murdered; her family must be devastated knowing that her murder was 100% preventable. Drug addiction and abuse will tear a family apart even from the slightest use; it doesn't have to go as far as murder and it doesn't matter where you are.
