This article describes an Indiana farmer challenging the world's largest seed company (Monsato) over genetically modified crops. He goes as far to go to the Supreme court and make a case. The issue is the rise of biotechnology investments. Indiana farmer Bowman is arguing that these acts are immoral. The seed companies are taking away farmers and making a large demand for seed production through the process of mass production. Their is an argument that seeds cannot be reused, seeds have to be bought new every year. This raises a problem of the patent holder not being in control of their seeds once they are purchased.
I agree that this company has too much control. This raises a issue for me because genetically modified crops causes environmental destruction. This causes destruction because resources are being made more than they have to. Keep producing seeds takes resources of the environment and I would say that why not keep reusing seeds. I understand that the seed company wants to make money but the problem is when choices are made of the interest of income rather than the interest of the environment.Without the help of the environment the inefficiency of money will not be matter. This is a global problem because with crops and along with meat production companies are sacrificing the well being of the environment and the people.
