Israel Education

This week The Jerusalem Post reported on the Gideon Sa’ar turning over the job of Education Minister to Shai Piron. Piron says that he thinks education is a crucial topic and says, “education is the ultimate link between past, present, and future.” Education has been doing well there, but Piron wants to improve it even more. He says that the government must support education more and invest because children are the future. He says that a lot of time gets spent focused elsewhere and kids get overlooked but that needs to stop and time needs to be targeted on education. A new agenda and budget has been laid out and plans to improve education are getting put in motion. Piron says that it is his dream to do what he is now starting to do.

More countries should have this attitude toward education. Governments should invest in education because those in schools now will be the one running the country in a few decades. Kids are the future. The people in power now within a country will have to be replaced and younger individuals will be brought in. No one wants uneducated advisors making governmental decisions, but if education isn’t improved then that will be the future. Reforms need to be put in action that call for better teachers that do not just feed the kids information, but actually teach kids how to learn and have knowledge. All countries and the world do not want to have leaders that gained degrees by memorization, and the only way to improve this is to invest more into education.
