blog 9: Ecuador Stratus'

There is a controversial issue that has arisen in Ecuador. This article is about how there is an issue between stratus’ American and Ecuador judges. There was a 18 billion dollar judgment due to the problem of damages granted to Ecuador. There is a huge debate that this was corrupt and it wasn't fair and people were being given the wrong information or being payed off or influenced to make certain decisions. The lead lawyer Steven R. Donziger was accused of misleading the people. There was scientific research being done to see if there was ground water contamination that harms and sickens the people living in the swaths of the rain forest.
The problem that I take from this article that people are taking advantage of resources and research. Those things are vital and the safety of people and shouldn't be taken advantage of. Many places we deal with things aren't being addressed with environmental issues. Some things we don’t address because we have focuses on other things that we feel is more important. I see hear that these people see making money and not using it what it’s for and taking advantages of this help is a large issue. It also brings to the issue what is to be chosen for our money to do research and to help our environment. Depending on the area of the globe, different places are going to have different values, cultures, and opinions of what they feel are environmental issues and how they can be resolved. All of these need to be considered while thinking and discussing this article.
