The budget plan is a big topic in the United States currently. Education has always seen a good portion of the national budget and this time it is the same. However, there are some new things on the horizon for our educational system that the House and Senate have decided are important and need to see more of this budget. Both the House and Senate want to allowed part of the budget to fund all-day schooling, specifically all-day kindergarten. They say that by spending more time in kindergarten students will have a better foundation, which can only be beneficial. Special education is another area where Congress wants to see more money at. They are also passing new amendments that will allow students to be in a different teacher’s classroom, if they most retake the grade level, if that teacher received a low evaluation.
All the changes are key changes that can only benefit the educational system. However, all of these changes come at a cost and the finance subcommittee with decide more of where they believe the money needs to go, but education is a huge part in human success, and these changes are said to improve education in the United States. By having longer kindergarten days there is more time to make sure students have the basic foundation of knowledge before they advance. It gives a chance to strengthen educational skills at a young age that will carry the child all throughout life.
