Summary

This article is emphasizing the importance of introducing global education in to schools in the hopes to help students keep up with globalization and ultimately be successful when it becomes their time to join the workforce. The article suggests that more language and culture experience needs to be put into schools as early as kindergarten because ultimately it will give them the essentials to get a job. It also benefits the way students think. They will become familiar with global issues and gain a point of view on the issues as well as being able to communicate their viewpoint. Studying abroad is highly recommended for college students and learning new languages is recommended for the younger students. The intent is to make global education something that continues over a lifetime to gain knowledge and understanding, as well as opening the mind to all that the world has to offer and how different countries interact with one another.

Analysis

The world and the dynamics of the workforce is ever changing and based on this article they are predicting that most work will be completed with the involvement of many other places around the world. Students need to prepare themselves for this change or else they will not be able to keep up with the rest of the world. The demand for workers to become cross-country skilled has become more than just a bonus but a necessity to work in the job market. With the amount of outsourcing all over the world this statement makes sense. Parts of products are produced all over the world and then assembled in one place. To do business, one must understand the intricate details of the process that the product goes through and that means understanding the different cultures and places. By introducing these ideas at a young age we are encouraging positive globalization, critical thinking, and a deeper understanding for the world that surrounds us. It will teach students all over the world how to communicate and interact with others no matter their background or where they are from and that skill is priceless in today’s world where communication is key.
