Aid to California Blog #3, Johanna Taylor

Summary:
After delivering aid to drought stricken California last week the Obama Administration released a statement stating that “the state as an example of what could be in store for much of the rest of the country as human-caused climate change intensifies”.   This coming under controversy due to the fact that the normal trends of California on a global warming climate scale tends to show that California should be getting warmer and damper with higher yield rain fall every year due to its geological position.  Scientists claim that the drought is a part of the natural variability of climate patterns.  The conclusive evidence about this drought though suggests that the current amount of particulates (Greenhouse Gases) within the air are trapping heat in and speeding up the evaporation rate, which in turn creates a crippling effect on California’s agriculture system. The natural cycle of winter did not come into effect for the crops until January, creating undesirable farmland.

Analysis:
This is not about the natural climate cycles, this is about the fact the human cause particulates are aiding the process of natural cycles in a detrimental way.  Greenhouse gasses are creating an unnatural rate in which precipitation is being evaporated. The fact that the president of the United States announced the need of aid for California uncomforting. Crops within California are greatly suffering considering that their growing seasons are extended to January due to increased temperatures. The cycle at which human caused particulates are creating is exceedingly detrimental  o the economy and environment. Considering that California kneads imported water to fuel industry, extra strain will be put on other parts of the countries water supply. Not only is the harming resources but it is also costly.
