Around the world the treatment of farm animals are not that great. There are many groups and organizations that devote their whole mission to improving the treatment of farm animals. Recently, there have been some new laws put out to help improve the welfare of farm animals. Now, the question is will these laws help to decrease the suffering caused by the human consumption of animals. What is considered mistreating an animal vary state to state. With many of the charges only consisting of a minor misdemeanors. Animal welfare organizations want The Animal Welfare Act to include animals in factory farms to be included so that they can be protected.  The only way that these new laws will be effective is if 1) they are so vague that they have no real hold on farmer’s conduct or 2) that they are so strict that they rule out all harm to all animals. These just goes to show that there is still a whole lot of room for improvement for animal welfare. In order for these animals to be protected there is going to be much complicated than just putting one law out. The law has to make sure that it explains how animals should be treated humane and stick enough so that there is no room for confusion/misunderstanding.
