In a recent article by Naomi Schaefer Riley, the problem of sex is talked about. This article introduces a theory to the public about women and the power they have over sex. The women are the ones who get to decide when they want to have sex with the men and the men try to convince the women that they are worthy of receiving this. The price for sex has gotten substantially low in this day and age and most guys can find sex without even looking too hard. What has happened to the price of sex is much like what would happen between two competing stores. One store really wants a costumer to come to them instead of the other store so they lower their prices. Well for women, a lot of them feel pressured to give guys sex at a lower "costs" because they want to keep the guy around and secure the relationship. It says in the article though that if women could only work together that they could heighten the quality of how men treat them and make sex something that is solely based on when they are ready and not based on when society pressures them to be ready. Women have the power to try and change things.
Analysis:
It seems these days that sex is everywhere. "Sex sells" is a phrase I have heard many times and I always found it so sad. I have heard women and girls complain about how men do not respect them and how guys do not treat them right but then they dress and partake in some racy stuff. The reason men have little respect for women these days is because a lot of women are so cheap and trashy that they do not even respect themselves. It is hard to respect a person who does not give you any reason to. What this article really shed light on is the fact that women need to stand up for their own independence and stand their ground when it comes to their sex life. If women want respect from men and to be treated right, then they/we have to go out and show everyone that they/we are reputable woman.
