Blog #6

What would you do for a million dollars? That is the opening line to this article. This article talks about how a women goes on a safari with the intentions to kill. She ends up killing a giraffe with a high-powered rifle. The giraffe was not attacking her but minding its own busy eating from a tree at the time it got shot. After she had killed the giraffe she then poses very proudly with the corpse with a huge smile on her face. The organization that post this type of pictures is called Animal Shame. Most is these type hunts are hosted on South African reserve. The type of hunting where one kills an innocent animal and takes such glorious pictures is called trophy hunting.

Throughout the course of this semester I have devoted my discussion board to how countries around the world have been increasing their efforts to protect animals. This week article just goes to show that in some counties they have a long way to go when it comes to animal rights. The animals that are being killed are being killed for no reason at all. They were not trying to hurt anyone or anything but as mentioned before they were minding their own business. This is completely unacceptable. As one may think, it takes no skill or strength to pull a trigger and take a life. So what joy do you receive? No animal should have to lose their life just so a human can take a “cool” picture.
