Africas Gay Movement
On April 12th two anti gay demonstrations will take place in Ethiopia, a quick spread from the countries Uganda and Nigeria.  Of course as we all know homosexuality is banned and outlawed in Africa, however over the lat past year methods to cease the actions of homosexuals have stripped them of their rights. Legislation in Uganda and Nigeria has already been passed this year to increase the penalties of homosexual acts. The argument of Ethiopian legislation is the fear of children being raped, and installing the belief that the rapist are homosexuals. Through the release of this information it has given homosexuals a stigma of all being a molester, rapist, and/or an abuser.  In Ethiopia a gay man who is found guilty of spreading HIV to another man is punishable of twenty five years.
Organizers if the demonstration argue that there is no specific reason for the demonstration a prominent gay activist believes that the lengths taken to gay bash will only continue until the run-up elections.  These stigmas placed on gay men in Africa are being forced under the illusion of "child protection" the title of the demonstration is "Keeping alien culture and homosexuality at bay." The chairman of this organization chairman of the Addis Adaba Youth Forum believe that this intolerance of homosexuality is to protect society and aware them of the dangers of homosexuality.
