Blog 8: Ukraine Implicates Ex-President and Russia in Protesters’ Deaths

Ukraine Implicates Ex-President and Russia in Protesters’ Deaths

The Ukrainian Authorities said that Thursday (April 3,2014) that former President Yanukovych and Russian security were involved in plans for police units to open fire on protestors and kill 100's of people before the downfall of the government. This report has no evidence to back it up, but both Ukraine and Russian authorities denied. The police have already arrested the police that were involved in the shootings, but other people involved fled to Crimea which was annexed by Russia last month. Ukraine's authorities are now responsible and have to give a comprehensive explanation of who carried who to carry out the shootings and caused a lot of deaths in the capital's main square. Apparently the Russians supplied the Ukraine police officers with weapons and trained them how to use explosives, weapons and equipment during a protest. Russia denies any of this though. The Ukrainian authorities are now charging Yanukovych their former President with charges of murder. The press denies him of these charges, and the police who fired said that their order to fire came from their commanders they didn't link to why he was involved but just ordered for his arrest. The Russian foreign minister suggests that since their isn't any evidence the charges be dropped.

Analysis:
Since following the Ukraine story for six weeks now, I feel as though things are settling down oddly. I see know a connection between Russia and Ukraine, even though they are supposed to hate each other right now. This is weird that they are both denying anything as well as Russia who should want nothing with Ukraine after the annex of Crimea is saying that Yanuovych shouldn't be charged without any real evidence, that is suspicious and I feel like they are working together. If this is true then I believe that this could possibly be a Global Issue, or a set up against the other countries such as the United States to get involved and even last weeks blog, the United Nations. I feel as something is bigger planned and can cause an outburst of crime not against each other now but against the other countries, since Russia was training Ukrainian police forces. That they are out to get someone. The tension has drastically changed between last week, when it was total chaos to now a lost nothing. It seems as though this could possibly be the beginning of something Global.
