Blog 2:Watch where you point that at!

Today at a private clinic in northeast China's Liaoning Province, 99 people contracted hepatitis C after they received injections with a single contaminated syringe at a private clinic. A statement from the Danggang‘s government said that all of the victims have been place into a hospital and they are now in stable conditions. From what the World Heath Organization hepatitis C can be very dangerous. It was also said that hepatitis C could cause liver disease, which that could lead to cirrhosis of the liver and liver cancer.  During late January, Danggang health authorities traced and screened 120 people who received varicose vein treatments at the private clinic. A health official said that the clinic was running fake television ads and flouted medical rules by using just one syringe needle for all of the varicose vein treatments. It has been made to believe that doctor, Xue Feng, is the one to blame for this malpractice. He has now been arrested and could possibly face criminal charges.

I really do not understand how this could happen in such a country like China. People, who do not take any medical field classes, know that sharing the same needle can be harmful to the body. This has been installed into our brain since the big AIDS epidemic in the 1980s and the 1990s. It is sad to know that this doctor, who knew better, still did this to these people. Doctors are there to help cure people, not infect them with a deadly virus. The even sadder thing about this story is that this clinic used false advertisement to help infect more people with this virus knowing that they were only using one syringe.
